all about Standby time [mobile terms]

all about standby time

Standby time is referred as the capacity of phone's battery that can manage to keep the phone in the state of being connected to the GSM() network without being in in use either by receiving or making calls and texts as well.
This is also determined as the longest time taken by a phone for a full charged battery to get discharged

Researchers have practically found that The stand-by time is highly dependent on the cellular network environment, such as the distance to the closest GSM cell tower (base station). Moving the phone (as in a vehicle) also negatively affects battery life.

Manufacturers measure talk time in controlled conditions and the quoted numbers are rarely reached in real-life scenarios. These numbers are best used as reference when comparing phones from the same manufacturer because battery life measurement methodology will probably vary from manufacturer to manufacturer.

Quite often you will find the Stand-by time field in the specification pages of new phones empty as the manufacturers sometimes fail to disclose the info at the official announcement. Later on when the handset hits the market, the figures are usually revealed and accordingly, we take the care to add them to the database.
It is worth to know that, standby time determines battery life of your phone

How to Set Your Watch Fast-trick

How to Set apple watch faster

Set Your Watch Fast
The Apple Watch is spectacularly accurate, but if you’re in the habit of setting your watch fast so you’re not late for meetings, you can do that by going to Settings > Time on your Watch and then applying a manual adjustment. Alerts and notifications still come in at the correct time, though; all you’re doing is changing the time that’s displayed on the watch face.

Hot ideas from Android vs iPhone debate!!

image result for android vs iphone debate

There are valuable ideas from the debate of iphone vs Android which are worth enough for you to read them up
Below are two comments from people who participated on the debate which was held on Redmondpie
Lets go.....

first comment
I bet my old iPhone 5S that it was the Android phag that got stabbed.
Let's be honest here, the Android guy has a low drinking tolerance and because of the fact that he kept nursing his beer, it got warm, and that's why he thought it was a good retaliation choice of weapon because if he had an Android phone, he definitely couldn't afford a knife or gun.

I'm sure he blew up when the Apple owner told him that his operating system runs smooth as butter with just 1GB of RAM compared to his lag-tastic Android phone with 2GB of RAM. That's the part that always gets these sore losers on the wrong side of history. Add all the RAM you want to make the numbers look better on paper, your OS will always lag. You need the help of a stuck-up ROM developer to make your phones operate the way they never could on stock.
My best friend is already complaining like a baby as to why they haven't made any custom roms for the Galaxy S6 already. He's already bored with his "new" and "awesome" phone.

Hot ideas from Android vs iPhone debate!!

Second comment
These people do realise that Apple and Samsung only care about money, right? Your brand 'loyalty' mean less than nothing to them beyond being a source of income. A phone is a tool. Like a hammer or a dish washing sponge, or toilet paper. Since when do you see people debating Kleenex vs Sorbent? It is not a lifestyle decision. Both can make and receive calls and texts, both have decent browsers. Fanboy/girls/others from both sides need to grow some self esteem and quit with this nonsense brand association. You are not defined or even described by your phone.. or if you are you're an idiot.

The debate is still on start.... we would like to see your comment below!!!!

What if Apple Watches are the future of iOS for the iPhone?

. What are we going to do with you iOS?

This is less a whine-fest leveraging the tired arguments that many-an-Android-fan-boy use, like “widgets” or “customization,” ad infinitum. Okay, it is a little bit, but really it isn’t. No, my take on this is squarely on what is basically an 8-year-old user interface. It’s old.

If you like your apps in orderly grids, look no further than the Lumia 1520, it's a grid champion if you want it to be (yes there is a shadowy image of a cat through the tiles, remember, this is the internet).
There are grids, then there are grids

I know some people like that organized grid of icons, and for certain, it is an obsessive compulsive’s dream come true. Though, for the OCD crowd out there that really wants a squared up grid, look no further than a Lumia 1520 with all the Windows Phone tiles set to small, and stacked neatly. It looks like you won Tetris and unlike the iPhone 6 Plus’ paltry 24 icons per screen, the Lumia’s screen will accommodate 66 apps before you the need to scroll down occurs. Nirvana.

I started souring from the iOS user experience after the iphone 5. When it became evident to me that Apple was not going to reinvent anything with iOS 7. I really do understand why the company chose to play it safe in that regard, it maintains familiarity, and removes the learning curve for virtually everyone, even if they upgrade to the larger iPhones – and yes, it really does “just work.”

The new look

Then I saw the Apple Watch. Now, I already know that it is not for me, as I have opined previously about daily recharging of an accessory that more or less relies on my smartphone anyway. Taken as a whole, it’s just another smartwatch, though make no mistake, it’s going to be a runaway hit. Even my wife, who doesn’t dive into technology the way I do, really wants the Apple Watch to go with her iPhone.

Believe me when I tell you that means something because she doesn't even wear any of the watches she already owns, and no, she's not a die-hard-wait-in-the-line-an-Apple-product type person either. Honestly, I think some of the Apple Watch's appeal to her is the same thing that has me intrigued by the device.

What has me really interested in the Apple Watch is Apple’s work on the user interface and experience. Apple says it is ideal for fast interactions on the wrist. Of course the icons are familiar looking, but the presentation is completely new. Even though it looks like a spinning ball, there is an iOS order to it, a center icon/app with a hexagon structure building out from there. Apple kept the iOS in iOS while taking the iOS out of it a little. I kind of like that.

iOS without the “iOS”

Let’s take the optimization factors out of the picture for a moment. Try to imagine how elements of the Apple Watch interface might work on an iPhone. In lieu of zooming in and out with a dial, we can just use multi-touch. Instead of swiping to another page of apps, we simply thumb around the hexagonal spheroid UI. Perhaps part of the screen can provide transparent partitions of widgets and notifications, or apps running in the background – an iOS rendition of a “live tile.”

The backend architecture is there for iOS, at least it’s a starting point. The priority for animated transitions has always been a distinction for the iOS experience. That is what plagued Android devices for so long until Material Design and ART came along. The point being is that the system software on the Apple Watch gives up nothing on that front.

Back to reality

My arguments aside, Apple can afford to take its time with iOS. The nagging feature that was biting at Cupertino’s ankles was the size of the device. Apple rightfully responded with a pair of larger devices and it has sent sales (and profits) into the stratosphere.

Now that Apple has joined the “big phone” club however, and assuming the company isn’t going to try and “reinvent” things with an even larger form factor, what else is there to tinker with but iOS? Hey, you never know, Apple could choose to go “bigger than bigger” with its mobile operating system and give people iOS without the iOS

Microsoft Band in United Kingdom for £170 on 15 April

Microsoft Band with optical heart rate monitor

The Microsoft Band combines the features of a fitness tracker with those of a smartwatch and will even tell you when you are feeling stressed.

At a time when Apple is getting all the headlines for its first wearable, Microsoft's Band has not had the smoothest of launches. Some of the initial reviews were pretty damning, with PC Mag calling it "wildly uncomfortable", while CNET compared it to a shackle or handcuff.

However, it seems those who have bought the device have a better opinion of the wearable, with customer reviews for the Band (admittedly on the Microsoft Store website) have an average rating of 4.3/5 while the Health app the company launched in connection with the Band "has more than 1,000 reviews in the Windows Phone, Android and iOS app stores with an average rating of 4 out of 5".
Sensor laden

The Microsoft Band's key selling point is the 10 sensors that monitor everything from steps taken to your heart rate and calories burned. However, features like the UV sensor to remind you when to put on sun cream and a "galvanic skin response measurement" to let you know when you are feeling stressed, make it stand out from the crowd.

While primarily focused on health and fitness tracking, the Microsoft Band also includes a number of smartwatch features, including getting alerts for incoming calls, messages, social media updates and email.

The alerts are delivered on the 1.4in screen, which has a resolution of 320×106 pixels. The Band features a tiny 100mAh battery that Microsoft says will give customers 48 hours of normal use. Charging is done through a magnetically attached charger and the band will come in three sizes so should fit most wrists.
Cortana on your wrist

While the phone works across all three major smartphone platforms, using it with Windows Phone will mean you get access to Microsoft digital assistant Cortana on your wrist. Cortana will also allow users to record notes and set reminders about their workouts.

Collating all the data collected by the Band is Microsoft's Health app, which is part of a much bigger push by the company to monitor people's fitness, and features a cloud service that, as well as recording your movements, will offer suggestions such as how long you might been to recover from a workout.

Microsoft's Health platform is open and will work with a range of third-party apps as well as different devices such as the Jawbone Up. The company is clearly pushing to become a central source for people's fitness tracking even if they move to a different smartphone

Rose Gold iPhone 6 will be released soon, see how it looks[images]

It was first reported last week that a rose gold next-generation iPhone could be a part of Apple’s plan, and Martin Hajek, the guy behind a number of great i Concepts in the past, has treated us to a potential preview of things to come.

Given that the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus both offered a drastic design overhaul on the preceding iPhone 5s – one that seems to have gone down well given the record sales – it seems fairly unlikely that the next installment will offer any significant adjustment to the form factor. Instead, we’re anticipating a refresh akin to the iPhone 5s, with upgrades including a bumped processor and improved camera, but for those with a significant amount of money to throw around, a rose gold iPhone 6s would also present an enticing prospect.

As you can see, alongside a rose gold Apple Watch, the device does look rather spectacular, although given the $17,000 asking price for the Watch, one suspects the retail price of a rose gold iPhone might be double or even treble that.

fake apple watch released in china [here are their models]

The second announcement of the apple watch earlier this week has got the tech world into a bit of a frenzy, but Apple won’t be the only beneficiary of the hype. Chinese companies are preparing to launch Apple Watch-alike devices of their own, and as you might imagine, they’re way lot cheaper.

As reported by Financial Times, fake apple watches are aplenty, and given the cost of the real thing, there’s plenty of money to be made.

image result for fake apple watch3

We’ve seen it countless times over the years from manufacturers in China, particularly where Apple is concerned. Many of the Mac maker’s most iconic products have been ripped off at every opportunity, including the iPhone and the iPad, but where, in the early days, the fakes were very sub-par, you can now get a plausible phony iGadget for a fraction of the price.

As you’d expect, then, some of these fake watches do a pretty good job of emulating the Apple Watch experience. Sure, they don’t run on Apple’s software, since it’s closed source, but from aesthetic point of view, they’re certainly not bad.

image result for fake apple watch2

One company – if you can call it a company – even touts “knockoff Apple watches” in very shameless fashion, and the depicted Zeaplus Watch will be available in silver, gray and gold. Of course, we’re not talking real gold, but then again we’re not looking at genuine Apple Watches, and methinks those considering a cut price Chinese version won’t be too fussed about the particular metal being used.

image result for fake apple watch

So, to the price. Those willing to forgo Apple Pay, Health and all of the other perks associated with a legit Apple Watch can expect to fork out upwards of $40, which isn’t too bad. It’s not going to integrate with your iPhone, nor benefit from the many apps Apple will have ready for launch, but hey, it will probably look quite good on your wrist.

That being said, would you part with pocket change for a knockoff edition? Personally, while the Apple Watch is definitely easy on the eye, I don’t think owning a fake is as appealing, particularly since Apple’s version offers solid functionality. Despite the low price, I think the real deal is probably worth the outlay.

Apple Watch-Read All About It Here!!!!

Apple Watch;
What you need to know about apple watch is its full specification, features, design, taptic engine, charging, display, software, watchkit, sizes and compatibility

apple watch1

Features and Specs

Design

The Apple Watch features a slick, and rather traditional design, and since it’s the first ever smartwatch coming out of Cupertino, we’re dead sure that critiques will go at it with their axes and spears.

Cupertino’s new smartwatch comes with a square face – sorry Moto 360 fans – and features a beautiful sapphire display at the front.

apple watch21

Moving to the side of the device, we’re treated with what Apple is dubbing as the ‘digital crown’, which is the go-to button for many tasks, such as zooming in, scrolling, going back a menu, etc.

The Apple Watch has been designed in such a way that it’s fit for pretty much any occasion, which is, obviously a good thing in our books.

And yes, in case you’re wondering, the Apple Watch is indeed water-proof, and is ready to take a few splashes here and there in your everyday routine.

The Apple Watch will be available with 6 different types of straps, so you can put your mind at ease that Cupertino’s smartwatch will get a tinge of boringness over time.

apple watch22

Sensors

Just like how the reports and rumors pointed out, the Apple Watch is insanely packed with sensors. In short, it’s the only health and fitness / fashion device you’ll ever need when you’re out and about. So yes, it’s safe to say that you can throw that trusty old FuelBand into the bin once you get your hands on this bad boy.

The new device features sensors on the back of the device, which are used to grab data from the user’s body, like heart rate sensor, GPS, accelerometer etc.

apple watch23

Taptic Engine:

Its Apple’s haptic feedback system for the Apple Watch. It taps you on the wrist whenever you receive a notification or an alert.

Taptic Engine creates a discreet, sophisticated, and nuanced experience by engaging more of your senses. It also enables some entirely new, intimate ways for you to communicate with other Apple Watch wearers. You can get someone’s attention with a gentle tap. Or even send something as personal as your heartbeat.

Display

The Apple Watch has a rather small touch-screen display, therefore it does not support multi-touch gestures and such, but, to overcome this issue, this is where the ‘digital crown’ comes in, as we mentioned above.

The display of the device wakes up automatically as soon it senses movement, which is a big plus, considering it doesn’t involve the rigmarole of pressing buttons and such.

Charging

The Apple Watch uses MagSafe to charge up, the connector for which goes on the back of the smartwatch. So yes, there’s no wireless charging which users were hoping for.

apple watch24

Software

The Apple Watch runs custom designed software, which has been tailor made for a device of this nature, and instead of relying on taps and button presses, most of the notifications can be interacted with using voice.

And since voice plays a huge role on the Apple Watch, therefore Siri has been thrown into the mix and is ready to take up your queries on a moment’s notice.

Just like any other smartwatch, the Apple Watch will push all notifications from your iPhone to your wrist, and unlike a Pebble smartwatch, the notifications are actionable, and you can send off replies without having to touch your smartphone. Pretty slick.

apple watch25

There are a bunch of watch faces thrown into the mix, ensuring that your wrist worn gadget doesn’t get boring as it sees daily used.

Apart from voice interaction, users have the option to doodle on the display to interact with notifications, but considering the small size of the display, what more could we ask for, right?

And since the Apple Watch is also a fitness ‘band’, therefore a dedicated workout app is also thrown into the mix. Want to track running, cycling or just walking? It’s all there under the hood.

Also included in the support for emojis, custom animated emojis, voice navigation using Maps, phone dialing, email, Mobile payments using Apple Pay, Calendar, Passbook, controlling music, Apple TV, iTunes, Photos, Weather, Stocks, World Clock, Timer Stopwatch, Alarm, Remote Camera, Walkie-Talkie, and more.

WatchKit

Using WatchKit, developers can extend the functionality of their apps to the Apple Watch in App Store. So yes, you’ll be able to create notes on Evernote, send replies to your WhatsApp or Facebook contacts, etc.

Sizes

The Apple Watch will be available in two different sizes, so yes, if you have a smaller wrist, then you don’t need to panic.

Different Models

apple watch26

The Apple Watch won’t be a lone device, and will come in 3 different models:
Apple Watch
Apple Watch ‘Edition’ – features 18 karat gold casing
Apple Watch Sport

All the above models are available in two sizes.

Price and Release Date

The Apple Watch will start at $349, which is, we’re presuming for the entry level mode, and prices will go up if you’re looking for something a bit more fashionable.

As far as availability is concerned, the Apple Watch will hit shelves in early 2015
