2 Random Access Memory ( RAM ): Fast C.P.U will be useless without adequate amount of RAM. Random Access Memory is the computer memory for storage and running of programs and applications
3 Hard Disk Drive: HDD is where permanent information are stored, information like documents, database,spreadsheets etc. The larger the HDD, the more you can store on the drive. The HDD speed can affect how fast you access your files in the computer.
4 Optical Drives: ( CD,CD-R,CD-W,DVD,DVD-R): Optical drives are CD and DVD drives, they are called optical, because the drives uses a laser to see the data attached onto the plate disk. Most of the softwares comes on CD and DVD drives, to read it and copy the software out to your computer that is when the Optical drive comes handy.
5 Floppy Drive: This is use for transferring small files from computer to another, though this is no more a concern since computers uses internet to transfer files electronically via Emails and some form of online storage, few computer sellers now don't even bother including floppy drive.
6 Video Card: This is plugged into the C.P.U mother board to enable display capabilities. New video cards now comes with their own RAM to help speed up graphic display. Many new modern computers has in-build video chips making it unnecessary to buy separate video cards, unless for higher video works or for playing video games.
7 Sound Card: This is an expansion board used for enable a computer to manipulate sounds,most sound cards gives the power to plug in speakers and microphones.
